The evolution of Google’s logo over the years – from 1998 to today

Interesting little page on Google which shows the evolution of the logo used on the home page over the years from 1998 to current.

http://www.google.co.uk/logos/logos98-4.html

There really is clear improvement from early on to the current designs, I guess this reflects the success of the business to a certain extent :)

Site revamped for UD+M

We have recently revamped the existing UD+M website (http://www.udm.org.uk). A nice clean site with a neat jQuery plugin we created to add a colour fading effect to the navigaiton when hovered.

Also existing flash effects for text fade in and image transitions were replaced with jQuery to work on all platforms (and allow for easy maintenance).

The navigation effect plugin will be released as open source shortly.

Facebook Comments for WordPress = Slow Blog? Fix here

The solution I found was to uncheck the ‘Combine WordPress and Facebook comment counts’ option.

Speed back to normal :)
